Trivia Question❓

NFL season is rolling around again, and retail sales of TV's reflects the anticipation. So here is an NFL related trivia question.  Which Venice High School graduate has played in the NFL,and for which team?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

A routine afternoon at the Boat Ramp near the Train Station in Venice, Florida, quickly shifted when a pickup truck accidentally rolled into the water during a boat retrieval.

The mishap occurred around 3 p.m. as the driver, while loading a flats boat, mistakenly put the truck in reverse, causing it to submerge.

Venice Police Department and Venice Fire Rescue responded promptly, working with Sea Tow Venice and Venice Wrecker to safely remove the truck.

No injuries were reported, and both the boat and ramp sustained no damage.

After a safety check, the ramp was fully reopened, though officials urge boaters to exercise caution, especially on steep or tide-affected grades.

A Bit of Sicily, Italy arrives in Venice!

Today, they bring that affinity to Venice Beach, FL as well as to Beverly Hills, Ca. in the form of  the Castanea Sicilian Cafe.

The idea of a cafe emerged from their desire to preserve their precious heritage by sharing it, and making it accessible to all those who need a little break from everyday life.....those who  want to immerse themselves in the world of Sicilian enjoyment & the ideal of il dolce far niente – the sweetness of doing nothing.

This rating signals exceptional fiscal health and smart management by city officials.

Residents and investors alike benefit, as the city can fund major projects at low borrowing costs, strengthening Venice’s reputation as a sound and accountable community.

Funds from the bonds will drive critical infrastructure efforts—like roads and park upgrades—ensuring direct improvements to neighborhoods across Venice.

Fitch cited the city's positive financial results for 2024, noting continued stability and responsible budgeting.

Major developments—including the Tarpon Center Drive Resiliency Project and new housing by Altera Jacaranda and Middle Street Partners—highlight Venice’s commitment to growth and enhanced amenities.

The strong rating reassures residents that Venice’s future investments will be handled with the same care and confidence as today.
