Venice Has Talent — But Who’s About to Prove It?
From performers chasing their moment to shine, to locals discovering talent right in their own backyard, here’s why this competition deserves more than a passing glance. From singers and dancers to performers with talents nobody saw coming, Venice’s Got Talent is bringing local talent into the spotlight during Sun Fiesta. The real question is: Who will surprise the crowd this year?
Every town has people with talents that rarely make it beyond the living room, the school stage, the garage, or a small circle of friends. But what happens when those performers get a chance to step in front of a crowd and show an entire community what they can do?
That’s part of the appeal behind Venice’s Got Talent, a featured attraction at the 53rd annual Sun Fiesta, returning to downtown Venice October 16–18, 2026.
While Sun Fiesta is known for its food, arts and crafts, family activities, and hometown atmosphere, the talent competition offers something a little different: a chance to celebrate the people who make this community more interesting than it might appear at first glance. The Spotlight Is Coming to Venice
Sun Fiesta is organized by the Women’s Sertoma Club of Venice and takes place at Centennial Park, 200 West Venice Avenue.
The festival is free to attend and brings together local entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food, and activities for families. The official Sun Fiesta sponsorship page lists Venice’s Got Talent among the festival’s attractions.
What makes a local talent showcase interesting is the variety of people who might take the stage. A performer could be someone who has spent years developing a skill, someone finally brave enough to share it publicly, or a local who surprises everyone with an ability most neighbors never knew existed.
More Than a Trophy
For performers, taking part in a talent showcase can mean overcoming nerves, building confidence, and getting experience in front of a live audience. For the people watching, it can be an opportunity to discover a new favorite performer or see a familiar face in an entirely different way.
And for a community like Venice, those moments matter. Local events give residents a place to gather, support one another, and celebrate the people who contribute to the character of the town.
Sun Fiesta also has a broader community mission. Festival proceeds help fund local scholarships and donations to charitable organizations. The club reports that it has returned more than $1 million to the community over the past decade through scholarships and charitable giving.
When and Where to Catch the Festival?

I wonder if they’ll have dancers this year. Last time, some of the performances were mixed but there were a few that really impressed me. Fingers crossed for some surprising acts this time around.
Totally agree about the community spirit here. These kinds of events make Venice feel more like home. And the fact that money goes to scholarships and charities makes it even better. I’ll be there cheering!
Jessie K.I’m with you, Jessie. It’s great to support local talent and a cause that benefits our community. Looking forward to seeing what everyone brings to the stage!
Not sure these local contests really bring out the best talent. Most of the time it’s just kids or amateurs with no real training. But hey, it’s good to have something fun for the community.
Tom R.I get what you mean, Tom, but sometimes those ‘amateurs’ surprise us the most. It’s about the effort and community vibe more than just perfect skill.
I’ve been to Sun Fiesta before and honestly, the talent show is the highlight! It’s always cool finding out people in Venice can sing, dance, or do magic tricks. Makes me want to try out next year.
