WWE NXT Brings another Big-Time Wrestling Energy to Venice

 

When WWE’s NXT brand first set up its ring inside the Venice Community Center in early 2024, few could have guessed the connection it would forge with local wrestling fans.

 

That first February 10, 2024 house show brought the action up close—no pyrotechnics, no TV lights—just pure, hard-hitting wrestling in an intimate setting. Fans left buzzing, and NXT took notice.

 

They were back just two months later, on April 13, 2024, with a championship-tag-team main event that cemented Venice’s spot on the NXT map. By then, it was clear: this wasn’t just a pit stop. Venice was becoming part of the NXT touring tradition.

 

That tradition hit a new high on August 9, 2025, when NXT returned with an “NXT Live!” showcase. The crowd roared as Sol Ruca defended her Women’s North American title, Lexis King won a dramatic blindfold match—and then came the moment that had the whole room on its feet.

 

Joe Hendry, fresh off his success in TNA, shocked everyone by answering Brooks Jensen’s challenge in person, storming the ring, and announcing his official entry into NXT. Fans not only witnessed a surprise crossover moment but also a glimpse of the evolving partnership between WWE’s NXT and TNA Wrestling.
