Venice Secures 'AA+' Rating for $15 Million Capital Improvement Bonds

City's Financial Strength Paves Way for Future Developments

The City of Venice has been awarded a prestigious 'AA+' rating by Fitch Ratings for its 2025 Capital Improvement Bonds, totaling $15 million. This rating underscores the city's robust financial health and prudent fiscal management.

This top-tier rating reflects Venice's stable financial footing and its ability to fund projects while maintaining low borrowing costs. It reassures investors that the city's debt is a safe bet, leading to favorable interest rates and cost savings over the life of the bonds.

The funds raised through these bonds are earmarked for significant capital improvements, including infrastructure upgrades and community enhancements. Projects such as road repairs, park renovations, and other vital community improvements are on the horizon, promising to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Fitch's commentary highlighted Venice's positive net operating outcome in fiscal year 2024, further solidifying the city's financial stability. This continued stability is a hallmark of sound budgeting and effective financial policies.

In addition to the bond rating, Venice is experiencing significant growth with several key construction projects underway. Notable developments include the Tarpon Center Drive Resiliency Project, which began in January 2025, and various residential and mixed-use developments such as Altera Jacaranda and Middle Street Partners Development. These projects reflect Venice's commitment to enhancing infrastructure, housing, and community amenities.

The 'AA+' rating not only reflects Venice's current fiscal strength but also positions the city favorably for future investment opportunities. Consistent high ratings build credibility and may pave the way for even more ambitious projects in the future.

For residents, this rating offers peace of mind, knowing that Venice is on a strong financial course, investing wisely in their shared future.
