How many quarterbacks does it take to make it to the Top?

Venice’s quarterback room got even more crowded this week with the arrival of senior Daniel Pangallo, who transferred in from Spoto High after losing the starting job in Week 3. Pangallo, a 6-foot-2 senior, provides another experienced option as Venice navigates the middle of its schedule.
Pangallo becomes the program’s third transfer quarterback this season. Earlier in September, senior Darryon Jones joined the Indians from Chaminade-Madonna. Jones, a three-star prospect and Howard University commit, made his Venice debut shortly after transferring and immediately added size and arm talent to the position group.
The first to arrive was senior Sean Long, who transferred to Venice from Pennsylvania over the summer. Long has been in the system longest of the three and has already taken regular-season snaps, giving the staff a known quantity while the competition sorts itself out.
With Long, Jones, and now Pangallo in the room, Venice has unusual depth at the most scrutinized position on the field. The immediate question is allocation: how the staff divides practice reps, packages, and in-game opportunities as each quarterback settles into the offense. The longer-term storyline is chemistry—how quickly the newcomers sync with receivers and protections, and how the group’s competition shapes Venice’s offense for the stretch run. |
