One of America’s most recognizable specialty food brands is expanding its footprint on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The Honey Baked Ham Company is preparing to open a new location in Venice, Florida, giving local residents easier access to its famous glazed hams, turkey breasts, sandwiches, and ready-to-serve meals.
The new Venice store will be located at 527 U.S. 41 Bypass North, Venice, FL 34285 , inside Bird Bay Plaza, a well-known retail and dining center along the U.S. 41 corridor.
A Beloved Brand With Deep RootsFounded in 1957 by Harry J. Hoenselaar in Detroit, Michigan, The Honey Baked Ham Company built its reputation around a proprietary spiral-slicing process and a signature sweet, crunchy glaze. Over the decades, the brand has grown into a nationwide favorite, particularly during holidays and family gatherings.
Today, Honey Baked operates nearly 500 locations across the United States, including more than 40 stores throughout Florida, making the state one of the company’s strongest markets.
Local Owners, Local ConnectionThe Venice location will be owned and operated by franchisees Charlotte and Craig Marcum, who told What Now Tampa that bringing the brand to Venice was a personal goal.
The Marcums cited long-standing family traditions centered around Honey Baked Ham products, noting that Venice was a natural fit for expansion due to the area’s strong dining culture and year-round population. Bird Bay Plaza, in particular, is often regarded by locals as a dining hub for the city.
According to published reports, the Venice Honey Baked Ham Co. location is targeting a soft opening in late March 2026, followed by an official grand opening in April 2026. Exact dates and promotional details are expected to be announced closer to opening day.
Once open, customers can expect the full Honey Baked Ham experience, including:
Popular sandwich offerings typically include favorites such as the HoneyBaked Turkey Sandwich, Turkey Bacon Avocado, and BBQ Smoked Stacker, making the store appealing not only for holidays but also for everyday meals. Venice continues to see steady growth in restaurant and specialty food concepts, particularly along the U.S. 41 corridor. The arrival of Honey Baked Ham Co. adds a nationally recognized brand to the mix, while also filling a niche for high-quality prepared meals and catering options. |
